Academic Expectations
Each teacher expects that the students will come to class fully prepared with school supplies, ready, willing, and able to participate in the lessons of the day. The following expectations more clearly explain how students should appreciate their studies.
Homework
The homework assignments are a major portion of academic development. Homework may be a combination of written assignments, reading, study guides, and long term projects or papers. At least two hours should be spent doing homework, studying, and reading each evening. Assignments should be neat, complete and submitted on time.
Students are expected to complete all assignments. Any student who habitually does not complete homework assigned on time will be assigned to an academic intervention program. After school Lab Hours are M-F 3:45-6:00PM.
Attendance
Students are expected to be on time for each class and not to miss class except in the case of illness or other serious reasons. If students are absent, they must contact the teacher to receive assignments for classes they have missed, or follow classroom procedures for obtaining the missed assessments from the school website. In the case of a prolonged absence, a student's parents should contact the office for assistance. Students are responsible to submit all missing assignments in a timely matter.
CLASSROOM ATTIRE
Learning deserves an environment of respect and freedom from distraction. All students are required to be in compliance with the dress guidelines.
MATERIALS
Students should always bring all their materials necessary for school.
UNIFORM POLICY:
In the 2012-2013 school year, each grade level will be wearing a different color of shirt; the colors will be the shades of grey. 9th grade will be in ash grey. 10th grey will be in sports grey. 11th grade will be in charcoal grey and 12th grade will be in black.
